On the 31st May 2010, INTI University College has been elevated to university level; thus now being named as INTI International University. The reason was because, based on the news, Mohamed Khaled said the institution fulfilled the criteria to be elevated into a university. Since it is being stated that the criteria has been fulfilled, let's take a look into what has actually been changed or improved.
First of all, the new cafeteria which has finally began its operation on the 31st May. In fact, the promised date of the opening was supposed to be on the 31st March. So, the first question is, are they putting an excuse saying the delay was caused by contractor issues? or is it because the management just wanted to make it something significant by having it opened the same day as INTI was made a university? Somewhat makes sense, doesn't it?
Anyway, that doesn't really matter much, we'll look into some other issues of the cafeteria. It seems that there has been a dress code enforced on the vendors, a green t-shirt with big words "Our Cafeteria" printed on it. Well, here's the issue, did INTI force them to buy and wear it? or did they get the shirts for free? However, it might seem that INTI would give them one shirt each, make them wear it everyday, hence, the vendors have to fork out money to buy extra...You can't expect someone to wear a same shirt for 5 days continuously a week, do you? (wash it everyday?). A very nice strategy for profit making...hmm hmm.
Next, a very stupid policy, the no pork policy. WHAT!, u ask...Did INTI gave up pork just for the university status? Never mind that though. I still see char siew (pork) hanging around at the chicken rice stall and also at the Wan Tan Mee stall. So, there was still pork after all... however, I noticed that the ones hanging at the chicken rice stall ain't genuine pork! it's chicken char siew!..erk.. guess the only stall left with real char siew pork is the Wan Tan Mee stall (or maybe that's also chicken "pork")...
No matter what, everything's just a matter of inflation and seeing how people strive for profit, somehow, u just have to bear with it, it's still your resource fee after all. Why not appreciate it?
